Larger nursery groups are expected to continue to grow in 2020, according to the latest Global Childcare Property Report.
The report, which outlines activity in the childcare property market in 2019 and makes predictions for this year, says it expects there to be further acquisitions by large corporate operators in 2020.
‘Mid-tier groups’ are ‘prime targets’ for the larger corporate operators as they grow, the report says. However, it also states that a number of these groups are on the expansion trail and looking to become corporate operators themselves.
A significant amount of international investment in the UK in 2020 is also predicted, with the weak value of the pound by historic standards and the low level of interest rates on offer making for a ‘healthy investment environment’.
Our Director & Head of Healthcare Finance, Mike Gascoigne said “We expect to see significant activity in the corporate arena in 2020.
“The marketplace for smaller regional operators remains buoyant and banks are very keen to support providers with both refinance and expansion plans.
“This is a great sector and one which should continue to thrive, it’s a great time to invest.”
